Ask for fees, MEP Roth-Behrendt tells EFSA

German Socialist MEP Dagmar Roth-Behrendt has told the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) that it should ask the European Commission to be allowed to charge fees. Roth-Behrendt spoke out during this month's debate on EFSA procedures for assessing claims and a proposal to have pre-submission meetings, after pre-empting one expected reason for not offering these from the agency's acting Executive Director Bernhard Url being the lack of resources.
