UK grocery sector losing billions due to poor waste management, says WRAP

Costs associated with food and packaging waste from the UK grocery sector have reached almost £7 billion (€8.2 billion) a year, according to the UK government's advisory body the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP). In a 7 October report, WRAP warned that disposal and packaging production costs were undermining profit margins equivalent to around seven per cent of household food and drink sales.
