Denmark launches new waste plan that boosts recycling

Recycle more and incinerate less was the message of Denmark's new waste strategy, published this week. In September, Denmark's Environment Minister Ida Auken announced her decision to come up with a strategy involving a "paradigm shift" in the way waste is handled (see EE&PL September 18, 2013, p7-8) in a bid to comply with the EU's waste framework directive and Denmark's goals under the Kyoto Protocol on climate change.
