Fourth plant protection neonicotinoid given partial ban by EU

EU member states have decided to ban the pesticide fipronil partially, after it was deemed to be potentially harmful to bees. The decision was reached at the 16 July meeting of the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health (SCoFCAH), the key EU committee on measures relating to food safety and animal diseases.
