HEAL urges EU to do more on air quality after WHO report

Following the publication of a World Health Organisation (WHO) scientific review on air pollution, the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) has called on the EU to step up its efforts to improve air quality. In its 309 page "Review of evidence on health aspects of air pollution" (REVIHAAP), the WHO warns that the health effects of air pollution have been underestimated: Air pollution can have an effect on human health at lower concentration levels and there are associations with conditions such as diabetes, adverse birth outcomes and cognitive development.
