The article e.g. pneumatic spring bellow (12), has a system of capsules (18, 19, 20, 21) incorporated in a material e.g. thermoplastic plastic. A group of capsules contains a substance or substance mixture with maintaining properties. Another group of capsules contains a substance or substance mixture with self-healing properties. A third group of capsules contains a substance or substance mixture reporting a forthcoming article failure. A substance effect is made to occur after disruption of the capsules of the groups. The capsules are present as micro or nano-hollow spheres. The article is formed from wear-susceptible material e.g. polymeric material, composite material, and/or thermoplastic plastic and/or inorganic material. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing an article (2) a method for manufacturing a pneumatic spring bellow.
