Commission takes Romania and Finland to task over packaging

The European Commission is urging Romaniaand Finland to send details about how EU legislation in packaging wasteis being implemented in their domestic laws. The requests relate to the need to update the scope of the packaging and packaging waste directive following the adoption of Commission Directive 2013/2/EU in February 2013. This law amends Annex I of the original Directive 94/62/EC, clarifying the borderline between what is packaging and what is not, with a view to reducing packaging waste.
