摘要

The European Commission said on 10 June that it is warning the Philippines and Papua New Guinea over their lack of action in fighting illegal fishing, but stressed that this was a 'yellow card' and that the EU was not yet banning fish from the two countries. Instead, the Commission told the Philippines and Papua New Guinea that they risk being identified as countries it considers non-cooperative in the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, grounds for an EU ban on fish imports from the two nations as well as on any fish from ships flying their flags.
