Commission study backs green taxes

A new European Commission study has backed use of green taxes, where the tax burden is moved from labour towards resource use and pollution, to spur economic growth. Published on 3 March, alongside another Commission study making the case for boosting flood protection as another boon to economic growth, the "Study on environmental fiscal reform potential in 12 EU member states," looks at the potential for greener taxes in the EU.
