摘要

Honeywell Inc. and Arizona Public Service Co. have agreed to pay a combined $1.5 million to fund a comprehensive investigation aimed at identifying possible cleanup options at a Phoenix su-perfund site, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.rnThe site is a portion of the Motorola 52nd Street su-perfund site, called Operable Unit 3 (OU3), site of a former Motorola manufacturing plant where soil and groundwater has been contaminated from a number of solvents, according to EPA.rnEPA announced the agreement Sept. 28.rnHistorical spills and other releases of commercial and industrial solvents at the Motorola 52nd Street plant and other facilities in the area, such as at the Honeywell 34th Street facility (formerly AlliedSignal), reached the groundwater, causing the groundwater to become contaminated, EPA said. The site was added to the National Priorities List in 1989.
