The U.S. Forest Service published March 24 a notice on smoothing the permitting process for energy movement on federal lands in 10 Western states (74 Fed. Reg. 12,306).rnThe Bureau of Land Management (BLM), a part of the Interior Department, in October released a final programmatic environmental impact statement for designated corridors for future electricity transmission lines and oil, natural gas, and hydrogen pipelines.rnThe Forest Service, a part of the Agriculture Department, is following up on that initiative with its own notice of decision to amend 38 land management plans for national forests involved in the corridors.
