Inspector General Calls for Return Of Unspent DOE Efficiency Grant Funding

One-third of the $2.7 billion in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding allocated to a federal energy efficiency grant program remains unobligated, the Energy Department's inspector general said in a report Sept. 7. The findings prompted the department's inspector general to recommend terminating grants for recipients that fail to use their funds under the program.
