The Senate rejected a series of amendments April 6 that would have blocked or limited the Environmental Protection Agency's ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, although congressional critics of the agency vowed to try again. Of the four EPA-related amendments offered to small business legislation (S. 493), the most damaging, offered by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), would have blocked all current and future EPA regulation of greenhouse gases.
