New Cingular Wireless to Pay $1.37 Million To Resolve Air, Water, Right-to-Know Case

New Cingular Wireless PCS has agreed to pay $1.37 million in fines and supplemental environmental projects under a proposed administrative settlement to resolve alleged Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and Emergency Planning and Community Right-to- Know Act violations at facilities spanning the nation, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. EPA said in a Sept. 19 notice that New Cingular, which inherited the facilities from AT&T Wireless, will pay $750,000 in fines and be required to spend $625,000 on environmental projects.
