Governor Signs Bill Creating Tax Credits For Residential Solar, Geothermal Systems

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad (R) signed legislation May 25 that creates income tax credits for residents who install solar or geothermal energy systems in their homes. Both credits will be based on the federal income tax credits available for such installations. The bill provides that if the federal credits are extended, both state credits will be extended as well.
