State to Add Emissions From Coal To Proposition 65 List on Carcinogens

California plans to identify four or-ganochlorine compounds and emissions from the combustion of coal as carcinogens under the state's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, also called Proposition 65, according to recent regulatory notices from the state's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment. In a July 26 notice, OEHHA said it would add emissions from the combustion of coal to the Proposition 65 list of carcinogens, effective Aug. 7.
