OMB Reviews Proposed Rules on Estimates Of Impacts on Endangered Species, Habitats

Three proposed rules for revising procedural steps under the Endangered Species Act are now undergoing interagency review at the White House Office of Management and Budget. Two rules received April 27 at OMB would clarify aspects of how the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service defines destruction or adverse modification of critical habitat for threatened or endangered species. A rule received by OMB on March 19 would clarify the timing and level of detail needed in incidental take statements.
