Obama Urged to Name Panel to Develop Comprehensive Climate Adaptation Plans

Citing a spate of recent severe storms, 40 House members Feb. 11 urged President Obama to name a bipartisan, blue ribbon panel to draw up a national plan to help communities adapt to the impacts of climate change. The panel would deliver its results within six months and be made up of public officials and others who have been on the front lines during recent severe storms, including governors, mayors, emergency responders, and business and civic leaders, according to the letter to Obama.
