EPA Cost-Benefit Analysis for Off-Site Waste, Recovery Emissions Proposal Criticized

Industry and environmental groups both questioned the accuracy of the cost-benefit analysis prepared to justify the Environmental Protection Agency's proposal (RIN 2060-AR47) to limit hazardous air pollution from facilities that store, treat, recover or dispose of waste, used oil and used solvents. The Cement Kiln Recycling Coalition and other industry groups said the EPA significantly underestimated the costs of complying with the proposed requirements and overestimated the emissions reductions that would be achieved.
