The Department of Homeland Security will "very shortly" begin a multiyear process to reform its Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards program (CFATS), two officials said July 23. Caitlin Durkovich, DHS assistant secretary for infrastructure protection, and David Wulf, who oversees the CFATS program, told the Chemical Sector Security Summit in Baltimore that an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking would be published within the next couple of weeks. It will seek public comment on potential reforms to the program, according to both officials.
