EPA Revises Air Rules for Makers Of Wool Fiberglass, Mineral Wool

The Environmental Protection Agency revised its hazardous air pollution standards for facilities that manufacture wool fiberglass, a move the agency estimates will reduce emissions of chromium compounds by 524 pounds per year once fully implemented. The final rule (RIN 2060-AQ90), published July 29, revised chromium emissions limits for gas-fired furnaces as wool fiberglass facilities considered to be major sources under the Clean Air Act. The regulation also sets new emissions limits for area sources in the wool fiberglass sector (80 Fed. Reg. 45,280).
