In air conditioning installations, noise, vibrations and turbulence caused by equipment, and by the flow of air circulating through the air distribution network, can generate noise that is transmitted to living spaces. If the inner surface of the ducts is made of a material that easily reflects the sound (for example, sheet metal), these turbulences can cause the walls of the ducts to vibrate, thus transmitting the noise through the network of conduits to the rest of the enclosure. The mineral wools are excellent acoustic absorbers, and for this reason, they effectively solve the acoustic problems in the air conditioning installations.
