Inspector General Urges Improvements For EPA's Report on Improper Payments

The Environmental Protection Agency properly complied with a federal law requiring the disclosure of improper payments but issued a report months later with significant errors, the inspector general found in a report released May 10. Under the Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Act of 2010, federal agencies must examine whether their programs are vulnerable to significant improper payments and issue a report. The EPA posted its fiscal year 2015 report on Nov. 16, 2015, but found significant errors in it and didn't publish a corrected version until Jan. 19, 2016.
