EPA Wont Include Revised Testing In Sewage Sludge Incinerator Plan

A final federal plan to implement sewage sludge incinerator emissions guidelines in states that choose not to develop their own plans will not include a revised testing procedure sought by sewage system operators. The Environmental Protection Agency's federal implementation plan (RIN 2060-AR77) will require sewage sludge incinerators to operate at 85 percent capacity when conducting required tests. However, the EPA said it is open to reconsidering that 85 percent threshold in the future in response to comments from groups such as the National Association of Clean Water Agencies that had argued the required capacity threshold is unreasonable.
