FirstEnergy Corp. will face a certified class of Ohio ratepayers who say the company bribed state lawmakers to secure a $900 million subsidy for two nuclear plants, a federal court in thestate ruled.The class approved by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio includes all people and entities in the state who faced a monthly surcharge for electricity under House Bill 6.The legislation imposed a nuclear bailout fee, but a state court blocked fee collection and the fees were effectively eliminated after House Bill 128 passed in March.
