The House’s top infrastructure lawmaker is prepared to pursue ambitious goals in the coming months, including more investment in a critical federal program that helps provide cleanwastewater throughout the country.“I’m going to push for a very ambitious number,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Chairman Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.), referring to the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, whichprovides loan financing and assistance for communities for a range of water infrastructure projects.The fund needs to be reauthorized and modernized this year, lawmakers and witnesses said at a subcommittee hearing today. The 2020 Water Resources Development Act (Public Law116-260) didn’t include a reauthorization of the CWSRF.
