The Environment Agency has published its draft corporate strategy, Creating a Better Place, covering the years 2010 to 2015. Most of the points in it represent continuations of the agency's existing work, for example on reducing carbon emissions and responding to flood risk. However, under the theme heading "Put People & Communities at the Heart of What We Do", the EA envisages stepping up its engagement with local communities and its "work with others to contribute to sustainable economic growth and support economic recovery". It is also considering setting a target for reducing the water use of individuals.
