Sharply increasing energy costs are more of a concern to manufacturing businesses than rising wages, according to a new report. Research from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IME) shows that 60% of manufacturers say rising power bills are their biggest fear. The poll of 1,000 manufacturers, carried out anonymously by MSS research, also found over half (52.4%) said the same about increasing cost of supplies and components, while only 35% said rising labour costs were their biggest worry.
