摘要

General Electric (GE) is arguing that a federal district court should overturn a prior ruling holding the company liable as an "arranger" of hazardous waste disposal at a New Hampshire Superfund site, and the court's response could test the reach of a recent landmark Supreme Court ruling on liability, lawyers following the issue say.rnIn an Aug. 21 filing with the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire, GE says that the high court's recent ruling in the consolidated cases Shell Oil v. United States and Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Co. v. United States means the company should be absolved of arranger liability.
