EPA is facing questions from other federal agencies and the chemical industry over whether it responded to the National Academy of Sciences' (NAS) 2006 recommendations on how the agency assesses the risks of 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), the most potent dioxin and the basis for estimating risks of mixtures of dioxins and related compounds at contaminated sites.
