House GOP Pushes Rule-Review Bill Ahead Of Other Reg Reform Efforts

House Republicans are weighing a host of options for reforming how agency regulations are reviewed, including the establishment of a new congressional office to analyze rules, even as they continue to push a proposal that would give Congress an up-or-down vote on "economically significant" regulations from EPA and other agencies. The House Judiciary courts, commercial and administrative law subcommittee held its second hearing March 8 on H.R. 10, the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny Act, or REINS Act. The hearing was also the fourth hearing of the session on regulatory reform proposals.
