Gao Climate 'Risk' Listing Bolsters Democrats' Calls For GHG Regulation

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) is listing the government's financial risks from climate change as a "high risk area" in need of significant reform, bolstering calls from Democrats and the Obama administration to improve infrastructure "resiliency" and regulate greenhouse gases (GHGs) to address the threats. The first-time GAO listing for climate change is not likely to help Democrats and President Obama pass legislation regulating GHGs as Republicans remain strongly opposed.
