摘要

EPA has re-started its long-running assessment of hexavalent chromium (Cr6), in part to produce one assessment that considers risks from both inhalation and ingestion, and in part to account for a modeling effort that the agency has undertaken to better understand how Cr6 reduces to a less toxic form of the metal inside the body. One agency source says EPA's National Center for Environmental Assessment (NCEA) plans to release the evidence tables, the first documents available regarding an ongoing Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) assessment, perhaps as soon as next month.
