Case study on changing a company's focus

The Australian Submarine Corporation has recently been awarded a long-term $3 billion contract by the federal government for the in-service support and through-life enhancement of Australia's Collins Class submarines. The corporation is transforming itself from a single project business to a professional services company concentrating on high-end skills potentially across the entire naval construction industry. Here, managing director Dr Stephen Gumley addresses some of the tools and techniques being used to deal with the challenges of change in ASC. This article is based on his recent presentation to the inaugural CELM-SA Leadership Seminar.
