Ensuring the quality of university courses

One of Engineers Australia's most important activities is the accreditation of tertiary engineering courses. Accreditation guarantees students that their degrees will be universally recognised and accepted, not only in Australia but also in the US, Britain, Ireland, Japan and other countries in Asia and elsewhere. Responsibility for accreditation rests with the Institution's Accreditation Board, which operates from the Australian Engineering Accreditation Centre in Melbourne. This article outlines the Board's 2006 activities.
