Massive work program preceded A380 delivery

This month australia's qantas Airways will join the small group of international airlines that have received one of the new big A380 aircraft from Airbus. On 19 September Qantas will take delivery of its first A380, following earlier deliveries to Singapore Airlines and Emirates. The plane will be handed over at Airbus' Toulouse factory in France and will fly via Singapore to Sydney, where it will arrive on 21 September. The first of 20 the company has ordered, the plane is intended to start its commercial passenger service from Melbourne to Los Angeles on 20 October and from Sydney to Los Angeles on 24 October. Bookings have been open for these flights since June. According to Qantas, the plane will offer higher levels of passenger comfort than other large aircraft, through more space per seat, advanced cabin lighting and airconditioning systems, reduced noise levels, expanded wireless connection services and a comprehensive in-flight entertainment system.
