Engineers australia's susta1nability initiatives include its Sustainability Charter, a Sustainability Portal and a communications strategy.rnThe Sustainability Charter, adopted by Council in August 2007, generated much discussion during the sustainability workshops. Accordingly, the Sustainability Committee has resolved to develop a set of engineering-specific principles, at a level below the charter.rnThe Sustainability Portal was unveiled during the workshops and was well received. The portal is a web-based storehouse of useful sustainability links for engineers, organised by industry, rather than engineering discipline. It covers elements ranging from prescriptive guidelines and standards to think pieces.
