The Degausser is designed to prevent data being recovered from a hard drive. This could be useful when getting rid of computers with confidential files. The Degausser uses a strong magnetic field to erase all information on the drive, including calibration and servo information. The unit is powered by a bank of sealed lead-acid batteries. The machine is also suitable for removable media such as tapes, diskettes, zip drives and cassettes.
