A sustainable water and wastewater services plan has been developed for a small coastal settlement in the southwest of Western Australia in response to plans for its expansion. The Western Australian government's land and property development agency LandCorp has proposed the development of approximately 140 additional residential lots in the village of Gracetown on Cowaramup Bay near Margaret River, with construction on the project likely to commence in 2012. For the new lots as well as the existing town, professional services company GHD has developed a water and wastewater solution which uses rainwater and recycled water as the primary source without the introduction of a mains potable supply.rn"LandCorp wants Gracetown to be recognised as a model for sustainable coastal living," said GHD's senior engineer on the project Simon Cleary.
