Doug Porter - from the Snowy to beef cattle

Doug porter, one of the founders of the Northern Division of Engineers Australia, died in February in his retirement home at Brunswick Heads on the NSW North Coast. He was 76 years old and had been ill with cancer for some months. After graduating in civil engineering from the University of Sydney in 1955, Porter acquired design experience at the bridge design section of what was then the Department of Main Roads.
