The Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF) is Australia's peak construction industry consultative organisation. Its aims are: 1. to create a competitive construction and property industry that is a leader in constructing a prosperous Australian nation 2. to facilitate communication between the interests that comprise the construction industry 3. provide governments and other bodies with an efficient industry liaison point. Engineers Australia has been a member of ACIF since its establishment 25 years ago. It is represented on the forum through the International and National Policy Directorate in National Office. The construction sector that ACIF incorporates includes the planning, design, construction, ownership, management and operation of all built assets required to accommodate the needs of the Australian economy. This sector delivers infrastructure including housing, commerce, retailing, tourism, manufacturing, primary production, transport, health, education, security and so on.
