Building services design to an LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold standard was an essential element in the data centre that opened in Sydney in August. Known as SY3, the data centre was built for Equinix to meet high demand for data centre services. The opening was stage one of the development of SY3. The building currently provides 1000 cabinet equivalents of capacity and in subsequent stages it is expected to expand to 3000 cabinet equivalents.
