Skills shortages found in the Navy

The Rizzo Review of the Royal Australian Navy has identified a shortage of engineering expertise as one of the systemic failures affecting the organisation. The review found that the Navy's engineering function has been "hollowed out" over many years, with the remaining engineering staff dispersed across the Navy, the Defence Materiel Organisation and the wider Department of Defence.
