Hugh Durrant-Whyte

As chief executive of NICTA (National ICT Australia), Professor Hugh Durrant-Whyte manages an organisation busy in the pursuit of high-impact research excellence and, through application of this research, creates national benefit and wealth for Australia. NICTA aims to be one of the world's top ICT research centres and currently has approximately 600 staff, in eight major research groups, with many of the world's leading researchers in their fields. It has a further 280 PhD students affiliated with its 17 university partners.
