Engineers Australia has welcomed the Tasmanian state budget's commitment to spending on transport infrastructure and other Tasmanian infrastructure projects. "The $1.4 billion commitment over the next four years to transport infrastructure will underpin economic growth and increase the competitiveness of Tasmanian manufacturing companies," said Engineers Australia Tasmania Division past-president Keith Midson. "Engineers Australia is pleased the Tasmanian government has listened to the views of various industry bodies and increased investment in roads, railways and ports."
