Why ethics matter to Australian engineers working in Asia

Unprecedented economic growth across Asia and the subsequent demand for new or upgraded infrastructure is presenting immense opportunities for Australia's engineering community. Asia offers Australian firms increasing access to a large and diverse array of markets, allowing them to expand their businesses from both volume and geographic standpoints and better position themselves to offset the dependence on cyclical domestic demand. However, despite the many benefits available by conducting business in Asia, it is critical that Australian engineers can also identify and manage the risks associated with operating in markets where ethical standards may vary.
