ERECTING OUT-OF-KILTER CANOPY PROVES TO BE A DIFFICULT JOB

Difficulty in erecting its 562-ton canopy resembling an enormous surfboard has put completion of Las Vegas' so-called "Cloud" back by four months. Nothing about the roughly 480 x 160-ft canopy taking shape on the Strip is symmetrical. "It's completely off-center," says Chuck Coleman, senior project manager for the developer, The Rouse Co., Columbia, Md. "One of the biggest challenges has been figuring out how to erect this thing," he says.
