Aeronautically Inspired Truss To Take Flight In Seattle

Fabrication is under way on a futuristic pedestrian bridge that will connect Seattle's Museum of Flight's main campus with an extension across the street. The tube truss design of the bridge's main 200-ft-long section, meant to evoke the shape of a plane's fuselage and the jetstream in its wake, presents unusual challenges in design, fabrication and placement.
