With the enactment of the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) in February, Congress and the Obama administration are placing emphasis on "green" transportation and infrastructure projects and government building and energy grid projects funded through the act. Steel offers many green benefits with its infinite recyclability throughout its life cycle. There are many areas designated by the ARRA that provide opportunities for steel: Repair of bridges and highways, steel provides an environmentally sound solution for bridge construction.
