FAR Compliance Requires Proactive Initiative

By the time the federal government introduced the Contractor Code of Business Ethics and Conduct (FAR Part 52.203-13) in December 2008, which required all government contractors with contracts over $5 million to have an ethics and compliance program, many government contractors had already begun to implement the necessary programs and internal controls required by the new regulations. Yet, there are many others who even today still don't have a program in place and don't fully realize the significance of the new FAR regulations and the change in climate in federal contracting.
